Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

The district nurses work with the practice team to help ensure that patients and their families receive the care and support they require to remain at home. Patients and their carers can make direct referrals for help and advice by ringing the surgery. The receptionist will relay the message to the district nursing team, or they can leave a message for the district nurse with Trust Call on 01493 809977.
Non-urgent advice: Health Visitors
The health visitor is there for the 0 to 5 age group and their families. She is a registered nurse with special training and experience in child health and development and health promotion. The health visitor works as part of the primary health care team and is easily accessible. Just a telephone call or a visit to the
